Jan 3 (Sunday)- Planning Meeting* - 1:00pm at Alfy's Pizza in Sedro Woolley.

Annual Meeting will be planned for end of January too.

We want to get together to plan the new year of adventures and get Nominations for Club Officers for 2010.  We will be spliting the duties for Secretary and Treasure this year.  Come get involved and make this the best year ever for Mount Baker MG Car Club. May 7-9 - Over the hill tour, Omak car show and swap meet. We've been asked if we are going to Omak again this year and yes we are. Once again the Bellingham Antique Automobile Restorers Club (AARC) is heading it up and MBMGCC members are welcome to join in. 

The plan is to meet at the old weigh station East of Sedro-Woolley at about 9:00 AM on Friday May 7th for the trip over Hwy 20. We return on Sunday May 9th.

May 22 (Saturday)- 25th Annual Van Dusen Garden Car Show, ABFM, Vancouver B.C. Canada  
May 30 (Sunday)- Boulevard Park Car Show, Bellingham-- Lets's get together for a picnic at the show!* Meet in the Imports section at 12:30 and we'll have a potluck picnic lunch together.
   Bring a salad, dessert or chips to share.
   Everyone needs to bring there own plates and beverage.
   The Taft's are bringing chicken to share.
If you want to put your car in the show, it is $10.00 and must be staged before 10am.  (Good Parking!) Always remember to bring a chair to sit on. Any question please email or call Becky Taft.  If you do not show your car, come down and have lunch together. It should be a great show in the sun. See event flyer here.

June 22-27- Ends of the Earth Tour- A beautiful journey to Glacier National Park with the MGCCNWC.  
June 26 (Saturday)- The Strawberry Shortcake Run* A beautiful drive along the coast from south Bellingham to Semiahmoo, where we will have lunch. Then back to the Randell's for strawberry shortcake and other deserts. Tim and Kathy Randell

July 31 (Saturday)- Day Trip to Winthrop*  We are planning to leave Sedro Woolley at 8:00am from the Sedro Woolley Bakery. Traveling over the North Cascade Pass, we will stop in Newhalem and Washington Pass before arriving in Winthrop to have a picnic lunch at the park.  We will be able to walk through downtown and enjoy the view.   There is also the option to go to the Farmer's Market in Twisp if we get there in time.   So pack a lunch and come have a beautiful drive.  The Bakery opens at 7:00 am if anyone  wants to come early for coffee or breakfast before we leave.  You can always pick up a muffin or donut for the road! jrtaft@verizon.net

Mar 15 - Italian Run on Camano Island -- Meet at Burlington Edison H.S. at 11:30am to leave promptly at noon.  The ride will be about 40 miles long through the Skagit Flats and North Camano Island.  No break is scheduled because of the short drive, but a route sheet will be available, if you think you'll need to stop. We will also be supporting our local animal shelter, CASA.  Please bring animal food or kitty litter which we will deliver. May 8-10 - Over the hill tour, Omak car show and swap meet. We've been asked if we are going to Omak again this year and yes we are. Once again the Bellingham Antique Automobile Restorers Club (AARC) is heading it up and MBMGCC members are welcome to join in. 
Click HERE for the brochure and links to registration form and a motel listing. Last year we stayed at the Omak Inn, and we are staying there again this year. We have a block of rooms reserved. A room with one bed is $67.00, two beds is $72.00. Call 1-800-204-4800 and ask for the AARC group rate. I called and they still have rooms available. 
There will be a BBQ pot luck dinner at the Omak RV park Friday night.

May 16 - 2009 24th Anniversary ABFM, VanDusen Gardens, Vancouver, BC Our trip for May is to travel to VanDusen All British Car Show. If you plan on showing your car, make sure you get registered and be in place by 10:00 am. if you want to just drive up and see the show, we hope to meet for breakfast in Ferndale at 8:30 to leave there by 9:30. The restaurant is "Babe's Place" at 2038 Main St., Ferndale.  From the south you would take exit 262, turn left (crossing back over the freeway) and proceed over the Nooksack River Bridge.  Once over the bridge, you would go through the first two lights.  Babe's is on the right hand side in the third block.  There is parking on the street and around on the backside of the same block. Babe's phone number is 380-0705.

    Lets get all together and head up all together, so please let Becky Taft or Kathy Randell know if you want to join us.  Let's try and get our numbers together by May 14th

July 11 - Wine run in Skagit County: Meet at Burlington Edison High School Parking Lot at 10:15am to leave by 10:30. We will be headed East to end up in Marblemount at the Glacier View Winery. Bring a light lunch or snack to have when we stop at three different wine shops along our way.  We hope to come back the South Side and end up at the Conway Tavern for eats. July 26 - Ice Cream Social at Washington Park in Anacortes* -- 12:00 noon

Meet at Burlington Edison High School if you want to go over early at 10:30 to head to ...if you want to meet up with us come on over and be at the park.

The An-O-Chords Salmon Bake is from noon until 4:00PM on Sunday the 26th.  There is no charge for the event but if you want lunch, it is $13 per person.  The salmon is fresh from Alaska and is delicious.  We may also have a hot dog plate for $5 but that is still up in the air.  There will be a novice quartet contest plus the headliners from the show (Fri & Sat. the 24th & 25th).  The headliner quartet is Crossroads and they finished first last week in the international contest.
 
To get to Washington Park follow Rt. 20 into Anacortes as if you are going to the ferry.  Go past the right turnoff to the ferry on Oakes to the end at the park.
 

People should bring their own chairs and come early if they want to sit together and get close to the action. After the show we will go for Ice Cream.

Sept 11 - 13: Sequim Garage Tour - On September 11 to 13 the Antique Automobile Restores Club (AARC) is having a tour to Sequim and would like to invite the Skagit Old Car Club (SOCC) and the Mt. Baker MG Car Club (MBMGCC) to join them. 
We will be touring some fantastic car collections. One is the collection of Fred Gilchris.

The SOCC was there a few years ago so it's time to go back. 
AARC Vice President Mark and his wife Dawn Jeseritz have been working very hard planning this event. All the information, motels, and ferries are listed HERE.
 

We need a head count of those that would like to go so please RSVP to the address to the right by August 10 or phone Lyle or Francie at 360-856-0352.
 
Please note:  if you are concerned about taking your old car on the ferry you don't have to. It's perfectly all right to bring your daily driver.

We will be leaving from the Shell station at exit 246 ( North Lake Samish), at 10:30am. We will go via the back roads to Padilla Bay National Estuary for a short break then back to the Noel's for Steak and Ale.

We will take a drive to see some of the fall colors then return to our place for some of Carol's world famous CHILI. (my Opinion) There is no need to bring anything. June 7 - Boomers Tour - The tour will begin at the south end of Chuckanut Drive in the town of Edison. Meet at 11:00 AM in the Edison Post Office parking lot across from the Rhododendren Cafe.  We will then drive to have lunch at the Weblocker Resturant ( burgers, fish and chips, etc) at Squalicum Marina, 734 Coho Way, Bellingham, WA (ph :360-676-0512) .  From there Wayne will lead one of his infamous tours to a candy and ice factory!* Wayne Musselman
