A Toast to the Wine Tour!

Wine, MG’s and song were the theme for day! A perfect top down MG day with blue sky’s and lots of crushed grapes and curvy roads! The first stop was Sampson Estate Winery. This winery was very fun and informative. They gave us a grand tour of the facilities and let us sample some of their fine desert wines. Next, it was off to Mount Bakers Vineyards for more sampling. We then headed down to Conway where we stop and visited Pesek Cellars the official winery of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. This was a great potty stop as well as a wide variety of great wines. After Conway, we meandered through La Conner and ended up at a nice little restaurant in Skyline Marina Anacortes. We had the place all to ourselves and enjoyed buffet style lunch! After lunch, we visited a couple more wineries on Whibey Island before the tour ended at Clinton. This tour was great west side alternative to the Seattle club’s east side wine tour. I raise my glass to Brad Whaley for an excellent job and a fine tour!

Boulevard Park Car Show was another great success!

The Mt. Baker MG Car Club Had an outstanding appearance with 13 Cars that represented the club well. Bill Jacobson took Second place honors in Imports Division and there was every vintage car you could imagine from Model T and Cadillac to Willies. The weather could have been better, however it could have been a lot worse. Another wonderful afternoon for the Mt. Baker MG Car Club!

Canadian Border Tour
June 14th

We’ll meet in Bellingham at Fairhaven Park just South of Bellingham toward Chuchanut Drive. From there we will caravan to meet the Canadian contingent at the Lynden border crossing (Canadian side) at 10:00AM rain or shine. There should be only a minimal wait at this border - maybe 5 cars (hopefully all MGs!). We’ll take you back to the Sumas border crossing mid to late afternoon.
We will meet them at Tim Hortons on Hwy 11 at 10:00 AM. Once through the border continue on past Vye Road (Traffic Light) just beyond the Chevron Fuel Cardlock Depot. You will have a Zellers on your left, turn left at the light going into the Zellers parking area and an immediate left again and you will be at Tim Hortons Coffee/ doughnuts. We will depart Tim Hortons once everyone has grouped up, driving around Sumas Mountain in Abbotsford, then through Clayburn Village and on to Mission. We will stop at Mission Chevron and have a pit stop (gotta get rid of the coffee). If anyone wants to gas up this would be a good time as we are going to head up the Lougheed Hwy to Rowena’s Inn on the river and have a walk about there. After leaving Rowena’s, we will continue heading east on the Lougheed Hwy through Agassiz then head over the Rosedale Bridge for a backroad drive to Chilliwack and on to Chilliwack Airport for lunch and the pie. People fly in from all over just to sample this pie, it’s great. Ok, it’s time to hit the road again, so we will head back towards Abbotsford on backroads along the border, here we will end the tour. We’ll take you back to the Sumas border crossing mid to late afternoon.

Check Your Oil

There are a lot of folks who can’t understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in the USA...
Well, there’s a very simple answer.....
Nobody bothered to check the oil. We just didn’t know we were getting low......
The reason for this is purely geographical. Our oil is in Alaska, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Wyoming, etc.........
All the dipsticks are in Washington, DC
