MG/Jaguar Softball Picnic
Directions can be found here
Don’t miss this! Sunday 15 August from 11am to 6pm
Welcome to the first annual MG/Jaguar Softball Picnic at the beautiful
Sudden Valley Resort, near Bellingham, WA. This will be a fun experience
and a chance to kick back and enjoy yourself with a break from the usual
club summer events. Bring your classic British Car and show it off to
the Sudden Valley residents and local Media. It will be carefully watched
over by Sudden Valley Security in a private asphalt area, while you play
a game of softball nearby. If you’re not in the mood for a ballgame,
our Canadian friends will be offering you a chance to play that very British
game – Croquet. Just imagine yourself with a beverage in one hand,
leaning on your croquet mallet! Rather do something else? We will have
exclusive use of the Sudden Valley Adult Center where you can lie by the
pool, have a swim, cook your burgers on the outside BBQ or use the inside
cooking facilities with lots of room to sit and chat. All this and just
a few steps away from each activity. If you want to stay on for dinner
after the ballgame, Bob’s Burgers and Brew at the Sudden Valley
Clubhouse offer hearty food at great prices. Reservations recommended.
- KISM Radio will be in attendance and will be raffling a restored 1967
Ford Mustang. KISM will also be doing live commentary on our classic
cars.
- Our cars will be parked in a grassy area in the center of activities
with SV Security keeping a friendly eye on them while we head off to
enjoy ourselves
- Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and beverages will be available, including soft
drinks, a Beer Garden and a Mocha iced coffee bar, or you can bring
your own makings to barbeque at the Adult Center
- The main Olympic size swimming pool will be available to all guests
including children, so bring your togs. (Changing facilities/showers
available at the Adult Center where there is also an adults only pool)
- Friendly softball game, supervised by the Sudden Valley Recreation
Director for all interested in getting a little exercise. (bring your
own glove and bat if you have one)
- Family “Whacky Water” games for those little and big adult
kids who just want to have fun. Quiet times lying by the pool at the
Adult Center for those who just want to hang out and chat.
- If you want to stay on for dinner after the ballgame, Bob’s
Burgers and Brew at the Sudden Valley Clubhouse offer hearty food at
great prices. Reservations recommended
Preliminary admission price is just $5.00 per person (this covers facilities
use fees, security and soft drinks. Bring your own burgers, buns, salads
and beverages or whatever else takes your fancy). In addition there will
be a commemorative Sudden Valley MG/Jaguar baseball cap offered for around
$10.00 to S12.00 (limited numbers so purchase early in the day).

President Tom Noel announced that Andy Bradley is willing to do a MG
clinic, and so is Jeff Stiner who both own repair shops.
Frank Travis moved to pay the dues to the English MG car club, and the
motion was passed.
The idea of having a club web site was much discussed. Eric Hall owns
the MBMGCC domain name. "mgmgcc.com." Eric is going to find
out the cost of a web site, and may set it up and do the newsletter taking
it over from Bryce Cook. Tom will set up another meeting to discuss where
we go from here.
